The MNABC is a group of like minded Merchant Navy Association members who are interested in sailing and boating, contributing to maritime safety and sharing information through multi-media linkages.
An important part of the MNABC is the SEAVUE safety reporting scheme.
The function of a SEAVUE Watchkeeper Afloat is to SPOT any vessel or person in difficulty or at imminent or serious risk, PLOT their position and immediately REPORT the essential facts to HM Coastguard, or the appropriate inland waterway authority. By acting as the emergency services ‘eyes and ears’ and reporting incidents to them in a speedy and effective manner we can make an important contribution to safety on the water and to the national search and rescue community.
